CALI AT NIGHT
As the shadows fall over Cali, five o'clock rings in the magic hour. That is when the nightlife officially begins and the sounds of rumba fill the air. For example, on the famous Avenida Sexta, one can heart the first beats of the evening, emanating from beyond closed doors and neon signs. The best way to see what is going on is to walk the avenue from one end to the other; at least, that is what the experts say. In the Avenida Sexta, you will find romantic couples on dates. It also a popular place for walking after a stroll through the Paseo Bolívar. Crossing the river on foot to get to the Avenida Sexta from the Paseo Bolívar is very lovely walk. Eventhough Cali is basically a Pacific Ocean town, one feels the far away influence of the Caribbean, the Antilles, Puerto Rico, or the Dominican Republic. On each side of the Avenue, and in front of the many open-air discotheques, like in a Terrace at the Don Jaime Hotel, or The Cristales the la Sexta.
